Here you will find updates on what the school is proposing to do to mark its 500th anniversary.
Activities to date
- The qunicentenary 'year' to run from September 2011 - Sept 2012.
- The Queen has been officially invited to come to the school in May 2012; the date to coincide as closely as possible to the date of her visit in 1962 which marked the school's 450th anniversary.
- A schedule has been drawn up identifying key events in the calendar which will form the basis of the year of celebration. A full itinerary will be available to download from this website very soon.
- WGS - A History of Wolverhampton's Grammar School is being launched Founder's Day, 2010. This commemorative book is a wonderful celebration of 500 years of WGS and will be available to order directly from the school.
Class reunions
The first reunion planned in the lead up to 2012 is now being organised....
The 1990 Reunion - 20 years on!
Saturday 24th April, 12 noon for 12:30pm
Join me, Nic Anderson, in celebrating 20 years since we left WGS in a reunion lunch. Please contact others from our year – the more we can bring along, the better the event will be.
