Admissions policy

Admissions

Entry to WGS is gained irrespective of race, gender, religion, political beliefs, disability, physical appearance or sexuality, either of students or their parents.

Wolverhampton Grammar School’s selection and admission policy is designed to confirm that applicants have the potential to cope with the challenging environment of a WGS education. The process, which involves a day of assessment for Big Six applicants and an entrance test for those looking to enter at Year 7 and above, aims to put students at their ease in order to assess what they can do and what they could do given the opportunities afforded to them at WGS. Applicants judged to be borderline are invited to interview, however this is very much seen as an attempt to rule in students rather than rule them out.

Further information on the application process can be found in our application procedure section
