100 PERCENT HAT-TRICK HERALDS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR FOR WGS
A Level students at Wolverhampton Grammar School are celebrating after achieving a 100 pass rate for the third successive year. The faultless performance by WGS’s 89 A Level students includes 77 per cent at grades A - B.
Remarkably all of WGS’s A Level Art students once again scored straight A grade passes - the eighth year in a row this has been achieved. These excellent results represent a remarkable achievement for the school and mean that the majority of WGS students have once again secured a place at their first choice university.
Head of WGS commented: “These results cap a remarkable first year for me here at WGS. I knew when I took up the post last September that this school offered something special and these latest A Level results certainly confirm that. “I am extremely pleased for all our A Level students who have worked so hard to achieve such excellent results. They thoroughly deserve our congratulations.”
Head of Sixth Form, Mark Benfield is clear on what his students have achieved:
“Results day will no doubt once again ignite the debate on the ‘dumbing down’ of A Levels, but we should be clear that these results are the culmination of two years of hard work from a group of dedicated students. “Today is a day to celebrate our students’ undoubted excellence and their successes which have been hard earned and thoroughly deserved.”
