Reflecting on the performance of this year’s cohort, Acting Head, Mr Peters, commented:

My warmest congratulations to a fantastic group of young adults. As remarkable as these superb results are, we are equally proud of the way our Upper Sixth leavers have continued to enjoy so many activities and interests beyond the classroom at our school. What really underpins this success is that our young people can truly be themselves, thanks to the kind and inclusive culture that permeates everything we do at WGS. Self-evidently, children who are happy and can be true to themselves are children those who can flourish.

Finally, Wolverhampton Grammar School would like to congratulate every member of the Class of 2026 on their outstanding achievements and wish them every success in the future. We also extend our sincere thanks to our parents and families for their unwavering support, which has played such an important role in our students’ success.

Acting Head, Mr Peters

As pupils across the country receive their results this morning, students at Wolverhampton Grammar School are celebrating outstanding success, with 72% achieving A*–B grades at A-level with an astonishing 17% awarded the highest A* grade.

Those students completing Cambridge Technicals also performed brilliantly with 90% achieving Distinction or better (equivalent to at least an A grade at A-level). These exceptional results have opened the door to exciting futures, with students securing places at some of the UK’s most prestigious universities and embarking on a wide range of ambitious career paths.

These results reinforce our reputation as one of West Midlands’ leading independent schools where students can unleash their true academic potential and achieve their ambitions. Most importantly, these results are a testament to the hard work of our students as well as the dedication and support of their teachers.
