Wolverhampton Grammar School Celebrates Aaron Rai’s Historic PGA Championship Victory

Everyone at Wolverhampton Grammar School would like to extend huge congratulations to former student Aaron Rai on his incredible victory at the PGA Championship.

Aaron, who left WGS in 2013, has achieved another remarkable milestone in what continues to be an outstanding professional career. We are immensely proud to see one of our former students succeed on the global sporting stage, representing the values of dedication and perseverance that were evident throughout his time at school.

As a school community, we have followed Aaron’s journey with great pride over the years and continue to support and celebrate his achievements at every stage of his career. Seeing a former WGS student competing — and now winning — on one of golf’s biggest stages is incredibly special for both staff and students alike.

Not only did Aaron secure a historic PGA Championship victory, he also achieved a rare statistical feat by improving his score in every single round of the tournament, something never previously recorded in PGA Championship history.

During his time at Wolverhampton Grammar School, Aaron was known for his quiet determination, humble nature and unwavering commitment. It is wonderful to see those same qualities continuing to define his success at the very highest level of professional golf.

Congratulations once again, Aaron, from everyone at Wolverhampton Grammar School. We couldn’t be prouder.
