As well as students progressing up through the Senior School, we welcome many new students into our Sixth Form each September.
There are many reasons for joining us at this stage including our ability to offer you maximum flexibility when choosing your A Level options. Students all benefit from small classes of 15 maximum, preparation for university and careers advice, plus an abundance of extra-curricular opportunities.
Key Admissions Dates
- Friday 12th January 2024 – Deadline for Sixth Form Applications
- Friday 9th February 2024 – Deadline for Sixth Form Bursary Applications
- February - March 2024 – Sixth Form Taster Days & Interviews, Scholarship Auditions
- Thursday 20th June 2024 – Sixth Form Open Evening
Entry Requirements
- An average GCSE score of 5.5 across a minimum of 7 subjects. This must include a minimum of a 4 in Maths and English Language.
- A minimum of 6 in the majority of subjects* (or associated subjects) chosen to be studied at Sixth Form. (Therefore if Maths and English Language are chosen this will need to be higher than the 4 stated above.) *Specifically in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Maths we require a minimum of a 7 if chosen to be studied at Sixth Form and an 8 in Maths if students wish to study Further Maths.
- Students who wish to consider undertaking 4 subjects must have an average GCSE score of at least 8.
Sixth Form Interviews
Candidates will be interviewed by a senior member of staff and we will request a reference from your current school. Your interview with our Sixth Form tutor team will also be an opportunity for you to demonstrate your commitment to learning and making the most of what school life has to offer.
