Our Vision

Wolverhampton Grammar School is an extraordinary school. You just have to step through the doors to feel a tangible warmth – a warmth created by people who embody community.

We provide an education as individual as your child, within an environment and community like no other. As one of the oldest schools in the country, we’ve been doing just that for over 500 years.

We will give your child the best opportunity to leave our school with excellent exam results. But, what we offer, is much more.

Our highly skilled staff help us fulfil this mission and our students go on to achieve great things. We work with students to ensure their curriculum is right for them. We can do this because of our expert staff, small class sizes, flexibility within our academic structures and because we are leaders in the use of technology – both as a teaching aid and as a way of supporting the students in our care.

  • Being a centre of excellence for staff development and wellbeing

Objective 3

To have a positive impact on our surroundings, by;

  • Contributing more to the City of Wolverhampton and nearby areas
  • Working towards a Carbon Zero school

We are proud to be one of the oldest schools in the country but forward-looking in our approach.

Children thrive under our exceptional pastoral care, award-winning leadership and outstanding learning opportunities. Class sizes are deliberately small and classrooms are bright and airy, creating a wonderful learning environment for all.

Ages 11 – 16

Many new students join us in Year 7 and benefit from a full induction ahead of starting. The House system from Year 8 upwards is an extension of our pastoral care and central to school life. Our students consistently perform well in GCSE and A Level examinations and we are extremely proud of them.

Ages 16 – 18

As young adults, our Sixth Formers enjoy studying and socialising in their own Sixth Form Centre, bringing with it greater independence, support from the Sixth Form team and House tutors, the advantages of small teaching groups, and the opportunity to take on leadership and volunteer roles.
