This year marks 11 years of outstanding partnership work aiming to inspire a love of reading amongst local school children
Two Cities Book Award 2023
The Two Cities Book Award was launched in 2022 with the aim to inspire young adults to read for pleasure.
King Edward’s School in Edgbaston and Wolverhampton Grammar School are delighted to be working in partnership for the second year running, to inspire young people aged 14 – 18 years to read for pleasure. Last year’s event saw hundreds of teenagers from across Wolverhampton and Birmingham taking part in the inaugural Two Cities Book Award which voted Jamila Gavin’s moving World War II drama, Never Forget You as the winner.
The following titles have been shortlisted for the 2023 Two Cities Book Award:
- When Shadows Fall by Sita Brahmachari (Little Tiger)
- Fight Back by A.M. Dassu (Scholastic)
- Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber (HarperCollins)
- The Last Whale by Chris Vick (Bloomsbury)
