It was time for one last bit of festive fun in the Jenyns Library before Christmas!

Jenyns Library Hosts Christmas Book Show

On Monday 18th December, Mrs Rowley and Mr McAllister hosted a Christmas Book Show in the Jenyns Library for children from WGJS, Penn Fields School and Goldthorn Park Primary School.

During the event, children participated in an interactive story and craft session themed around the book, The Robin Who Stole Christmas, by Rachel Morrisroe. The book follows the festively funny story of Rotten the Robin who hatches a plan with his friends to steal Christmas!

After meeting Rotten the Robin in our Jenyns Library, children visited the Bennett Story Garden, where they took part in a treasure hunt to linked to the book.

Finally, the children were challenged to paint their very own birdhouse for Rotten the Robin, before concluding the session with a fun dance along!

Everyone left the event inspired to read for pleasure and with a greater appreciation for enjoying outdoor spaces in all seasons.
