Discovery Day Registration

This exciting Year 10 Discovery Day offers you a valuable opportunity to experience life in the Sixth Form at WGS.

Throughout the day, you will explore our dedicated Sixth Form facilities, including specialist subject classrooms, science laboratories, independent study areas, and social spaces designed to support both academic success and personal growth.

You will be able to choose from a range of subject block options for the day. From sciences to arts and humanities, allowing you to personalise your experience and explore areas that interest you most.

At lunchtime, you will also have the opportunity to visit a variety of information stands to explore our extensive extracurricular programme, enrichment opportunities, career pathways, and additional subject options.

The day will begin at 9:45am with a welcome and introduction to Sixth Form life, followed by a programme of subject taster sessions and activities designed to mirror a typical Sixth Form experience.

A complimentary lunch and refreshments will be provided. The day will conclude at 2:30pm.

We are proud to be one of the oldest schools in the country but forward-looking in our approach.

Children thrive under our exceptional pastoral care, award-winning leadership and outstanding learning opportunities. Class sizes are deliberately small and classrooms are bright and airy, creating a wonderful learning environment for all.

    Ages 11 – 16

Many new students join us in Year 7 and benefit from a full induction ahead of starting. The House system from Year 8 upwards is an extension of our pastoral care and central to school life. Our students consistently perform well in GCSE and A Level examinations and we are extremely proud of them.

    Ages 16 – 18

As young adults, our Sixth Formers enjoy studying and socialising in their own Sixth Form Centre, bringing with it greater independence, support from the Sixth Form team and House tutors, the advantages of small teaching groups, and the opportunity to take on leadership and volunteer roles.
